ACT FAMILY DAY CARE

A Place to Shine

ACT Family Day Care Service acknowledges and pays respect to past and present elders of the Ngunnawal people traditional custodian of the land in which we operate.

Young children who go to ACT FAMILY DAY CARE (AFDC) get the tools and support they need for their healthy development. All activities are carefully designed to adequately nurture the emotional, intellectual and physical growth of our kids. Through stimulating situations and hands-on learning opportunities, children are free to develop into bright young minds from the comfort of our educators home environments.

AFDC acknowledges the importance of supporting its educators to provide a warm and equal care for every child in their care irrespective of culture, race, and religion, and socio-economic, family background, physical and intellectual ability.

Why choose us

ACT Family Day Care is a private family day care service which offers professional supervised care for children from ages 0 to 12 years in the private homes of approved Family Day Care educators who are independent contractors of the ACT family day care.

ACT Family Day Care is organised and supported by a co-ordination unit which arranges the placement of children with educators, according to the needs of families and monitors the care provided.

It also undertakes necessary administrative responsibilities such as collecting and receiving fees, paying educators subsidies received from CCS, and ensuring government accountability requirements are met. Child Care Subsidies are available to eligible families to reduce the cost of care. For more information, see Early Childhood - Department of Education, Skills and Employment, Australian Government (dese.gov.au)
